Cyprus property for sale popular with UK buyers

I’m in the overseas property business and I often get invited to dinner parties. What’s the worst profession to be in at a dinner party I wonder? Being a vet is not good. Being someone whose job means you know why Johnnie's PC isn’t working is worse than being the local candidate for the BNP. And nowadays being in overseas property brings debates over the main course to even dizzier heights.

VAT is coming to land for sale in Cyprus

On the 1st of Jan 2008 15% VAT will be chargeable on land.

Clearly this will have two effects, new properties will become 15% more expensive and this will drag the prices of built properties upward which is good news for those who have already purchased and offers an opportunity to those looking to purchase over the coming months as some developments are currently being offered with no VAT but you’ll need to move quick to find the best deals.

Property for sale in Cyprus - home from home for Brits

Investors look to Cyprus

Joining the Euro will add to the attractions of Cyprus. On 15th February this year Cyprus applied to join the Euro becoming the 14th country to do so.  During March and April the European Central Bank is expected to evaluate Cyprus's application, comparing the country's economic performance against the strict criteria necessary to join the currency.
