Panama - a safer haven for the international property investor?

Some places in the world have managed to avoid some of the worst of the downturn and make excellent places to squirrell away one's money when times like these make it difficult to be certain how secure anything is.  Panama, in contrast, has such solid robustness to its key indicators.

The Economy

Panama's economy is on course to be the envy of many of its neighbours and most of Europe.  Some highlights:

Panama had one of the fastest growing economies in the world in 2007 (11.2% real GDP growth) due mainly to factors such as:
