Self Invested Pension Plans in the UK are allowed to buy specific types of property within the pension plan, generally commercial property. The property must conform to the rules that apply to SIPP investments.Some overseas properties have been made suitable for purchase by pension funds which will usually mean that the property is not available to be used by the trustees or beneficiaries of the pension plan without jeopardising the tax benefits accruing to the contributions paid into the plan.
