Borovets Bulgaria Property and Location Guide

Borovets is the biggest and most modern resort in Bulgaria and on the edge of the Rila mountains. Borovets is 12 km from Samokov and the capital Sofia is 72 km away. Borovets is 1390m above sea level, and has a favourable healthy climate with cool summers and mild snowy winters. Borovets resort provides excellent opportunities for winter sports on its first-class ski slopes, tracks and facilities.

Borovets Skiing

Borovets ski centre is serviced by a well organised lift system, including Gondola lift taking you over the forested lower slopes to the more open higher ski areas which go up to 2560m. The total length of runs is about 40km and there are available ski runs for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers.

Ski pistes are grouped in three regions in Borovets: Sitnqkovo – Martinovi Baraki – pistes; Markudjik- 4 pistes and Qstrebec- 3 pistes. The pistes on Qstrebets are the best and are where all of the competitions in Borovets take place. Usually the slopes of Borovets have snow cover from mid December till mid April, 14 snow cannons for artificial snow are installed to guarantee the snow cover if needed. There are more than 200 ski instructors in Borovets resort, fluent in foreign languages. We also have a range of Bulgarian ski property in other ski resorts.

Borovets Entertainment and Sightseeing

The night life is excellent at Borovets with bars, cafes, night clubs, and discos. Borovets has been catering for foreign tourists for many years, the staff are friendly with places open to late. There are restaurants and taverns, some with Bulgarian national folk music and 'horo' dancing. Visit the famous Rila Monastery or the palace "Carska Bistrica" which is 10 minutes walk from the centre of Borovets. The busy city of Sofia is an hour drive away for sightseeing and shopping.
