Caldas da Rainha (The Queen's Spa) is only 10-15 minutes from the resorts and offers pretty much all you'll need.
Caldas is the principal city for the district on the Silver Coast around Obidos, Foz do Arelho and the resorts of Praia d'El Rey, Bom Sucesso and Royal Obidos. Here you will find the main services required - banks, hospitals, schools and the like. It is 10km or so inland from the coast and is renowned for its potteries as well as its spa waters.
