Taxes in Dubai

One of the major attractions of Dubai and a key reason several wealthy and famous people have bought property and even moved there is that Dubai has no income tax, capital gains tax, rental tax or stamp duty!  It is a true tax haven in that respect.

The authorities set out right from the start to make Dubai as attractive as possible for investors, residents and most particularly companies looking for a Middle East base.  The complete absence of most forms of taxation was a fundamental plank in this strategy and it looks likely to remain in place for a considerable time given the continuing expansion of the region.
