Events & festivals on the Cote d'Azur

The Cote d'Azur is a lively place all year round with over 170
festivals and literally thousands of theatre productions and concerts.
 Of course, everyone will be familiar with the Grand Prix in Monaco
each year but what about Jazz?  There are festivals of jazz each year
in Antibes, Juan Les Pins and Nice.

As the area is also
famous for flower growing and perfume production (especially around
Grasse) there are festivals celebrating fruit and flower cultivation:

• the Fete des Violettes in Tourrettes-sur-Loup - generally in March and featuring a procession, kids games and visits to the flower fields for those interested;
• Nice carnival;
• Fete du Citron in Menton - where 120 tonnes of fruit are combined
  with elastic bands to create a range of impressive designs from boats
  and cars to animals and people.  This takes place in February and attracts over 200,000 visitors.
