Healthcare in Brazil

Before travelling to Brazil we recommend you check the latest advice regarding innoculations needed (see the British Embassy website). Travel insurance and private medical insurance are required as most doctors and nurses treating you will expect on-the-spot payment in cash.

Most towns will have clinics and these function much as local hospitals do in the UK - they should be your first port of call when seeking medical attention.  Find their telephone number and address on arrival to avoid confusion in the event of need.
