Employment in Bulgaria

As Bulgaria is now a member of the EU (effective January 2007) you do not need a visa in order to work there.  

Finding work can be difficult in Bulgaria unless you have a recognised profession that they need out there. It is worth trying to arrange employment prior to travel. Not only will this ensure some financial security but also will assist you with getting a work visa as the employer must do this on your behalf and their name will go on the visa.

Even though Bulgaria entered the EU in 2007, it will take some time for changes to happen in this area. Once this has occurred this information will be up dated accordingly
