Employment in Romania

A work permit is required for anyone intending to work in Romania for longer than 183 days. A residence permit/visa is also required.

Work permits are issued by the ministry of labour and social welfare, usually within 7 days of the submission of all the necessary documents.

Work permits are issued for 6 months and can be extended when requested.

Even though Romania entered the EU in 2007, it will take some time for changes to happen in this area. Once this has occurred this information will be up dated accordingly
