Medical care in Morocco

Hospitals outside the main towns of Morocco can be basic and old-fashioned compared to those in the UK. Standards of medical care in Morocco are deemed acceptable, this said specialised treatment may not be available and most hospital staff are unlikely to speak English.

Some initial emergency treatment will be given for free, though British nationals are likely to be charged for the majority of there medical care. It is strongly recommended that you take out comprehensive medical insurance to cover the full period of your stay and this policy should include evacuation to the UK if needed. Some vaccinations may be needed for Morocco. These can include Hepititus and Polio. If you are venturing outside town areas it would be recommended to have a tetanus vaccination. Please seek medical advice in regards to the vaccination you may need.
