British nationals will be expected to pay for all the medical treatment received in Turkey, whether it is in private or state hospitals.

You must ensure that you take out fully comprehensive medical insurance. You should check for any exclusions and the policy covers any activities that use you may wish to undertake. Facilities in most Turkish hospitals are basic and old in comparison to the UK. Standards of medical care are deemed acceptable although some specialised treatment may not be available, and most hospital staff are unlikely to speak English. The larger resorts and cities however do provide excellent medical facilities.

Dentists and doctors are also found in Turkish hospitals even though some clinics are available in small towns.
