Visa information for Dubai Visas are required by most visitors to Dubai whether it be for holiday purposes or to live or work there. Transit visas: Transit visas are valid for 14 days for those wishing for short stays. Visitors visa: All visitors should obtain a visa before travelling, by applying to the UAE embassy in their own country. Visitors' visas are valid for a period of 30 days, overstaying may result in daily fines. Labour card and residence visa: All foreign workers require a residence visa and Labour card. To obtain these you must first undergo a medical examination. Residence visas are valid for 3 years and are easy to renew. There is an age limit of 50 years, but this can occasionally be overcome, if appropriate reasons are presented. New residents should remain in the Emirates for the first 6 months of their stay. Resident visas are supplied with non-UAE purchase on property. The documents required entering Dubai • A passport valid for at least 6 months, it is useful to have 3 or more copies • At least 6 passport sized photos • Birth certificates for all family members • A marriage certificate where applicable Please note that all foreigners who wish to live or work in Dubai must have a certificate to show they are in good health and free from HIV/AIDS.
