Didim is situated in the Aydin Province on the Aegean coast. Didim is located on the north shore of the gulf of Gülluk opposite the Bodrum peninsula villages of Torba, Türkbuku and Yalıkavak. About Dikim
Altınkum has the most important beach resort in Didim with plenty of bars and restaurants. The beach is located in the centre of town and has a blue flag award. The sea here is very shallow for a long way out. There are some other beaches and coves in Altınkum. Didim - Altınkum is an excellent resort for sun bathing on golden sandy beaches, participating in watersports in the coves where any kinds of such sports can be performed. The most attractive bays are the smaller quieter ones further from the centre, such as Haydar, along a dirt road around the shore of Akbuk (white bay). Akbuk village is one of Didim's classiest and has a yacht marina.
Didim town has hotels, a weekly market, and a water park. For nightlife Didim has two or three discos and a number of smaller bars and clubs. However Didim is really a quiet family resort with great coastline, and livelier nightlife is at Bodrum. For sightseeing visit the Apollo temple of Didyma a historical wonder. Didim is also close to a number of other ancient towns and natural wonders, including Lake Bafa national park, the Büyük Menderes River and historic sites such as Miletos and Priene. Ephesus and Virgin Mary’s House are about 40 km from Altınkum.
