Hurghada is one of the major tourist resorts of the Red Sea coast and an international centre for water sports. Hurghada is served by Hurghada International Airport which has direct flights to the UK or via Cairo if preferred.
If it takes place in or on the water you can do it at Hurghada, windsurfing, sailing, deep-sea fishing, swimming, are all available. Sightseeing and Activities around Hurghada

Sharm El Naga is a village around 40 km south of Hurghada, which has a beach with possibly the most beautiful reef cliff in the region. El Gouna is an artificially created and privately owned luxury hotel town about 25 km north of Hurghada. Soma Bay is a tourist resort 45 km south of Hurghada. Makadi Bay is 35 km south of Hurghada and has a quality beach and has scuba diving and snorkelling.

Visit the Hurghada Museum and Aquarium for a tour of undersea splendour; alternatively view the Red Sea through a glass bottom boat. Go swimming at the beaches at Abu Minqar or Dishet el-Dhaba, or take a day trip to the Red Sea Mountains for desert tours, including, camel rides, 4x4 and quad safaris. For a more tranquil experience, head to the nearby monasteries of St. Anthony and St. Paul with its frescos. The historic stone quarry, now archaeological site, of The Roman Mons Porphyrites (mountain of porphyry) is nearby to Hurghada at Gebel Abu Dukhan (Father of Smoke).

Hurghada Climate

Throughout the year Hurghada has a warm and dry desert climate with a steady breeze. There is very little rainfall in Hurghada. Summers are very hot with temperatures over 40°c. In the winter temperatures are between 20° - 25°c. Water temperatures range from 19 degrees in winter to 28 - 30°c in summer.

Diving in Hurghada

Hurghada central location provides a gateway to diving sites and uninhabited offshore reefs and islands throughout the Red Sea. Hurghada is widely considered the capital of the Red Sea. Diving is well established in Hurghada, the local sites guarantee Hurghada’s popularity, although some operators use Hurghada as a departure point for sites lying further afield such as Abu Nuhas and Bluff Point. The best diving spots around Hurghada are at Giftun Saghir Island and Abu Rimata, which is nicknamed "The Aquarium" for its multi-coloured fish population. The Golf Club at El Gouna, Red Sea. El Gouna is around 25 km north of Hurghada. El Gouna course was designed to be accessible to every level of golfer, from beginners to advanced golfers. The Cascades Golf & Country Club is approximately 40 km south of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast in Soma Bay. The Cascades hosted The Red Sea Pan Arab Open Amateur Championship in July 2006.
